What data we process
Next to none. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to use the site. We don't use traffic analytics, ads or tracking pixels.
If you email or phone us, we use your details only to reply. The "Become a member" form doesn't send anything to us: it just opens your email app with the message written, and you decide whether to send it.
Your location
The "Where am I?" and "Send your location" buttons ask for your browser's permission. Your location is used only on your phone, for the map or for the message to Mountain Rescue that you send yourself. It never reaches us.
What stays on your phone
The site keeps a few preferences in your browser's storage (see the cookies page): day or night mode and your ticked packing list. They don't go anywhere, and you can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
Third-party services
For maps, weather and routes, your browser requests data directly from these providers. They see your IP address, as with any website you visit.

Bookings
We don't take bookings. When you message or call a host, the conversation is between you and them, and the host becomes the controller of the data you give them.
Your rights
Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port the data we hold about you, which is usually just your correspondence with us. Write to us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to Romania's data protection authority (ANSPDCP), dataprotection.ro.
How long we keep data
We keep emails for as long as we need to reply and to keep our membership records, then delete them.
